Sarah Lawrence’s bustling campus always has something new, exciting and community-driven to offer to students. The amount of club involvement, sporting events, and social engagement on campus is ever-evolving, with this upcoming week being no exception. 


A solo exhibition by artist Mary Temple titled And Roses Too is currently on display at the Heimbold Visual Arts Center, and will remain on display until Oct. 13.


Monday, Sept. 30 


The Office of Global Education is hosting an informational meeting at the Barbara Walters Campus Center (BWCC) in Room A. They will be providing information about studying abroad at Oxford College in England. 


The men’s soccer team will take on Medgar Evers at Fleming Field at 7 p.m. 


Tuesday, Oct. 1


The Office of Global Education is hosting another informational session, this one pertaining to studying abroad through CET. A representative from CET will be at the meeting to discuss the programs and answer any questions. This meeting will take place at the Library Electronic Classroom LL117. 


The Health and Wellness center will be hosting a Let’s Talk session in the BWCC Reading Room from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and is open to all students. Anyone can stop by if they have any struggles, questions or concerns about their adjustment to campus and can speak to a Health and Wellness therapist for a 20-minute session. 


The Visual and Studio Arts Program is continuing its lecture series, and guest speaker Emily Colucci will be giving a lecture on “The Trash Aesthetic” in the BWCC from 1:30 p.m. to 

2:30 p.m.


Additionally, cultural historian Dr. Amanda Wunder is presenting a lecture in the Heimbold 202 Donnelley Film Theatre called “Fashion and Status in the Spanish World, 1530s-1730s”. 


Democracy Matters is hosting a Kahoot night at 6 p.m. in the BWCC Room C. The Kahoot will be focused on the upcoming presidential election, and there will be prizes.


Wednesday, Oct. 2


The Class of 2025 is hosting an open work session for seniors from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the BWCC Room C. 


The Office of Global Education will be hosting an informational meeting in Swinford Classroom 102 regarding study abroad with non-Sarah Lawrence programs at 12:30 p.m.


There will be a screening of the 2021 film “The Cathedral” followed by a Q&A session with filmmaker Ricky D’Ambrose in the Heimbold Donnelley Film Theater at 5 p.m.


Hillel is hosting Rosh Hashanah dinner in BWCC Room B from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.


The men’s soccer team is playing New York University at Fleming Field at 7 p.m.


Thursday, Oct. 3


The Health and Wellness Center is hosting Ask-A-Nurse at the BWCC from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.


The Office of Career Services is hosting a resume workshop and internship search session in the Learning Commons of the library from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. 


The Office of Global Education is hosting another informational session, this one centered around studying abroad at the University of Leeds in England. This meeting is taking place in Swinford Classroom 102 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.


Campus Safety is hosting first aid CPR training from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. This training is open to everyone, and individuals who complete the program will receive a certificate which is valid for two years.


The Sarah Lawrence Activities Council (SLAC)  is hosting a game night from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the BWCC living room. 


Saturday, Oct. 5


Fall Fest is taking place on the North Lawn from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The SLAC encourages all students to enjoy fun activities, food and music.


Campus security is hosting another CPR training session from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.


Sunday, Oct. 6


The Trader Joe’s shuttle will be running regularly from 11:40 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., with pick-ups taking place at the BWCC circle. 


Lastly, the Student of Color Block party will be held on the North Lawn from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Hosted by Common Ground and Harambee, they encourage students to enjoy food trucks, student performers and vendors.
