The men’s team looks to build off of last year without their reigning MVP, Caleb Jaster (’16) who will be abroad. Still, the program returns Pat Newsom (’17) and two others from last year’s crop of first-years. Newsom was also named to the HVIAC all-conference roster.

The program has been in flux for the past couple of seasons, though there have been bright points. As coach Erin Pomykala put it, “We have a young squad we’re hoping to develop into a concrete foundation.”

The Gryphons opened the season at the Baruch Invitational in the Bronx with a 10th place team finish (out of 13). Last season opened similarly before Sarah Lawrence was able to put together a solid showing at the HVIAC championships (5th of 7).

Their next meet comes this Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Bard Invitational in Annendale-On-Hudson, NY.
